Palladium White Gold Alloy
The alloy is more commonly known as white gold and is an alternative to platinum.
Palladium white gold alloy. Gold nickel alloys are also used as white gold. As with the 14k alloys the majority of commercially available 18k nickel free white gold alloys are designed using palladium as the primary bleaching agent. Palladium has been used as a precious metal in jewelry since 1939 as an alternative to platinum in the alloys called white gold where the naturally white color of palladium does not require rhodium plating. The 18k alloys are generally 10 to 15 percent more dense than other 18k white gold alloys.
Low palladium alloys and high palladium alloys. Once again they fall into two major subfamilies. Palladium is much less dense than platinum. In both cases some other metals may be present in small amounts such as silver zinc and copper.
Gold and palladium are totally soluble in one another. The primary use of gold palladium alloys is in jewellery. Similar to gold palladium can be beaten into leaf as thin as 100 nm 1 250 000 in. It will not look like rhodium plated white gold.
Palladium white gold jewelry is a wonderful option for those sensitive to. Palladium white gold has an enchanting light gray color and some may notice the slightest hint of yellow because it is in fact gold. Like yellow gold the purity of white gold is given in karats.
